FIRST THINGS FIRST

In the Middle Ages, artists who wanted to depict Satan–among them, Hieronymus Bosch, Albrecht Dürer, and Hendrick Goltzius, all from Germany–were given surprisingly few details from the Bible about how he should appear. “The Bible is very vague,” Barryte says To visualize this ruler of Hell, artists cobbled together imagery from older traditions that had already decided what demons looked like. “Bits and pieces from lots of now-defunct religions got synthesized: The cloven feet from Pan, the horns from the gods of various cults in the near east,” Barryte says. “In the 15th and 16th century, these solidified into this personification of evil, seen as the great enemy of Christ, the Church, and mankind: a horned, bestial, furry figure                                                                              Bosch, Dürer, and Goltzius, all from Germany - were given surprisingly few details from the Bible about how Satan should appear. Obviously, they did not read or research the Bible had they, they would have discovered the following -

We are in a battle, which means a fight, which means a contest, 

which requires dedication, at all times.

Therefore, we must be ON GUARD at all times.

 

The battle is spiritual not carnal. The battlefield is in the mind.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 - For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:(For 

the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of 

strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against 

the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

 

Ephesians 6:11,12 - Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against 

the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, 

against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual 

wickedness in high places.

 

Romans 13:12 - The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works 

of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

 

James 3:1-17 - My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater

 condemnation.  many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a 

perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole 

body                                                                                                                     

Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their 

whole body.                                                                                                                  

Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are

they turned about with a very small helm, whither soever the governor 

 listeth.                                                                          

 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter

a little fire kindleth!  And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among 

our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it 

is set on fire of hell.   

 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed,

But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made 

after the similitude of God.                                                                                            

Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought 

not  Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and 

bitter?                                     

Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both

 yield salt water and fresh.                                                                                              

Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good 

conversation his works with meekness of wisdom                                                                

But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the 

truth.                                                                                                                                       

This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, (which is) devilish.

For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work,                                                                                                                                                                                   But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be 

intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

 

Two Kinds of Wisdom

 Satan endeavors to influence our lives by manipulating the world around us which affects 

our senses   

James 3:15 - There are not three kinds of wisdom (earthly, sensual, devilish) but there is one

 wisdom which is not from above which has one author, the Devil. This wisdom is devilish 

which influences the world which influences our senses. ‘

 

The wisdom from above (God’s) is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full

 of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

 First Pure - Coming from God your idea will be pure and clear in your mind. It will not be 

fuzzy, complicated or confusing.

Then Peaceable - Your idea or wisdom from God will bring peace of mind and heart.

Gentle - Your idea will be fit or suitable to your own situation, it will also be reasonable and fair.

Easy to Be Entreated - The New Testament Greek word from which entreated was translated is "EUPHEITHES" which means to be easily persuaded. You will be able to make up your mind to carry out your idea.

Full of Mercy - Here the N.T.G. Word from which "mercy" was translated is "ELEOS" which means active compassion or the desire of relieving the miserable.

Good Fruits - Good fruits means results in great abundance.

Without Partiality - Wisdom or revelation from above will in no way favor just one person, personally. It will however favor everyone concerned, without prejudice.

Without Hypocrisy - Your idea, which is revelation or wisdom from God above will not be phony, dishonest, or insincere. It will come from your heart.

 Satan is constantly ready with endless suggestions for the thought life  

which will influence the mind of the believer:

2 Timothy 2 :24-26 - And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men,

 apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God 

peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they

 may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his 

will.

 

Satan’s World -

2 Corinthians 4:4 - In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which 

believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should 

shine unto them.

I Timothy 4:1 - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart 

from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 - When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth 

thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be

 found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or 

that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or 

a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things

 are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God

 doth drive them out from before thee.

 

WHEN WE PERMIT SATAN TO FEED SUGGESTIONS INTO OUR

MINDS, OUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH STAGNATES.

TO HAVE VICTORY WE MUST KNOW GOD’S WORD.

 

2 Timothy 2:15 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to 

be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

 

2 Timothy 2:8-IO - Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the

 dead according to my gospel: Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; 

but the word of God is not bound. Therefore, I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that 

they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

 

You cannot bind the Word.

 

Be Ready for Satan's Attacks

1. Not ignorant of Satan’s Devices.                                                                                             2 Corinthians 2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of 

his devices.

 2. God is Our Sufficiency.                                                                                                        2 Corinthians 3:5 - Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves;

 but our sufficiency is of God;

 

Attacked, but not beaten.                                   

2 Corinthians 4:7-9 - For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his

 proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that. I say therefore to the

 unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I But if they cannot 

contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

 

Attacks are a challenge to be strong.   

 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 – ‘And lest I should be exalted above measure through the 

abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of 

Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the 

Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for 

thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory 

in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in 

infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for

 when I am weak, then am I strong.

 Be Ready with God’s Word.

 1 John 4:4 - Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

I Thessalonians 2:13 - For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye

Deuteronomy 6:4-7 - Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love 

the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And 

these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach

them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and

 when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Psalms 4:4 - Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and 

be still. Selah.

 Psalms 63:5,6 - My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall

 praise thee with joyful lips. When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in

 the night watches.

 Psalms l43:8,9 - Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust:

 cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. Deliver 

me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.

 

WHY?

 Ephesians 4-14 -16 - That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and 

carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,

 whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in 

all things, which is the head, even Christ. From whom the whole body fitly joined together 

and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the

 measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

 

HOW? RETEMORIZE

CAN YOU RETAIN SCRIPTURE IN YOUR MIND?

 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

 Scripture retained in your mind is nourishment for your spirit; it will help keep you 

spiritually fit.

Just as the physical man is fed by physical food, so the spiritual man is fed by spiritual food.

The Word of God dwelling in your heart will help you overcome fear and worry.

Thousands of Christians have found Scripture retemory a key to daily victory over the 

adversary. This can be your experience too.

 The following 10 suggestions are to help you learn HOW to retain Scripture:

 . Choose a time when your mind is free from outside distractions.

 . Read the context of the verse in your Bible.

 . Include the reference (also topic, if you have one) as part of the verse.

 . Read the verse through several times aloud.

 . Now break the passage into natural phrases. 

- Learn (the topic), reference and first phrase. 

- Then repeat (the topic), reference, first and second phrases.

-  Continue adding phrases until the whole verse is retained.

- It is helpful to write the verse out as part of the process of retemory.

- Review the verse immediately, and frequently throughout the first couple of days after 

learning.

THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE

At the time of Genesis 1:1 when God created the heavens and the earth He created angels 

also called spirits, messengers, or stars. All these created spirits were under three Heads: 

Lucifer, Gabriel, Michael.

 

1. Lucifer was the one assigned the greatest responsibility. He was next to God in authority 

and power. 

Isaiah 14:12 - How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning . (O Lucifer, 

son of the Morning Star) ! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the 

nations! literally reads,

Ezekiel 28:14 - Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou 

wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the 

stones of fire.

 

2. Gabriel - as God’s created spirit ruler was and still is His special messenger carrier.

Luke 1:19, - And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the 

presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

Luke 1:26 - And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of 

Galilee, named Nazareth,                                                                                                          

Daniel 8:16 - And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, 

Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.  

Daniel 9:21 - Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen 

in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the

 evening oblation.

3. Michael’s major assignment is to stand for God’s children and to fight against anyone 

and anything that attacks them.

Daniel 10:13 - But the prince of the kingdom of Persia  (satan) withstood me (Daniel) one 

and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, (angels) came to help me; and I 

remained  there with the kings of Persia.

Daniel 10:21 - But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is 

none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

Daniel 12:la - And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince (angel) 

which standeth for the children of thy (God) people …

Jude 9 - Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the 

body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke

 thee.

Revelation 12:7 - And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the 

dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

 

The Fall of Lucifer.

Ezekiel 28:11-19 -

11	Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
12	Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13	Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14	Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15	Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16	By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17	Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18	Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19	All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

Isaiah 14:12-17 (verse 13 = “I will exalt my throne above the star, God.”)

 “I will ascend” - Those who do the same in their walk with higher powers in the

 church are apt to do the same with God.

 Genesis 3:1 - Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD 

God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every

 tree of the garden?

Revelation 12:4-9 - And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them 

to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, 

for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was 

to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his 

throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, 

that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And there was 

war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought 

and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And 

the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which 

deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with 

him.

 

When:

Genesis 1:2 - And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of

 the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Isaiah 45:18 - For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed 

the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be 

inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

 Jesus Christ became the Bright and Morning Star taking Satan's place!!!

 Revelation 22:16 - I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the 

churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

I Corinthians l5:27,28 - For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all 

things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under 

him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be 

subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

 Job 1:9-12 – Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on 

every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the

land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy

 face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon 

himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

 

Matthew 16:23 - But he (JC) turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou 

art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of 

men.

Luke 13:16 - And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath 

bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

 Luke 22:3 - Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the 

twelve.

Luke 22:31 - And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that 

he may sift you as wheat:

Acts 5:3 - But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy 

Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

I Corinthians 7:5 - Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye 

may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you 

not for your incontinency.

I Timothy 1:20 - Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I (Paul) have delivered unto 

Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

 As the great accuser of the true God’s believers Satan is the indirect cause of people’s

problems by way of situations or circumstances or other people 

which he arranges and controls.

 The Devil - Diabnlos used for the Adversary.

John 8:44 - Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a 

murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. 

When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Acts 13:10 - And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou 

enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

Hebrews 2:14 - Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also 

himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the

 power of death, that is, the devil;

1 John 3:8, l0 - He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the 

beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works

 of the devil.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not 

righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Revelation 20:10 - And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and 

brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night 

for ever and ever.

 

The Temptations:

 Matthew 4:1 - Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the 

devil.

Mark 1:12,13 - And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness. And he was 

there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the 

angels ministered unto him.

 

50 TERMS ASSOCIATED WITH and USED by SATAN IN EVERYDAY LIFE

 These are commonly referred to as OCCULT Practices:

 

AMULET: Good-luck charm (e. g. a rabbit’s foot, a talisman, or a special piece of jewelry worn around the neck). Usually, the amulet is inscribed with a curse or a spell, or it is sometimes a capsule containing a slip of paper upon which is written a contract with the devil.

 

ANIMISM: The belief that inanimate objects are alive and have souls. Certain people worship such objects as rocks, trees, and so forth.

 

ASTRAL PROJECTION: Spirit travel outside the natural body. Occult practitioners seek out-of-body experiences, believing they are the source of peace and power. In such experiences, the soul leaves the body and is able to travel great distances and operate on a different level of consciousness. This practice has long been popular in pagan lands but is becoming more and more common in North America - according to authorities on occult.

 

ASTROLOGY: The practice of telling the future by "reading" the stars. Astrology is clearly forbidden in the Word of God. It is an ancient practice, a so-called scientific method of predicting events by charting the placement of the sun, moon, stars, and planets. Astrologers claim to be able to forecast events by the placement of planetary bodies at certain times. They also claim that an individual has certain inescapable characteristics determined by the Zodiac sign they were born under. Millions of people read their horoscope in the newspapers every day. It is a big business. The only problem is that the horoscope is nothing more than satanic garbage. The only person that knows the future is GOD.

 

People cannot go beyond what they are taught.

Nor teach anymore than they already Know

 

That's why so many people get caught up in this satanic con.

 Proverbs 14:12 - "There is a way which seems right unto man, but the end thereof are  

the ways of death."     

                                                                                                                                                     1 Timothy 6:20 - "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust (the truth in God's 

Word), avoiding profane and vain babbling s and oppositions of science falsely so 

called"                                    

 Deuteronomy 18:10 -12 - "There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son 

or daughter pass through fire (fire walker) or that uses divination (supposedly telling the 

future) or an observer of times (astrology) or an enchanter (a magician) or a witch, or a  

charmer (hypnotist) or a consulter with familiar spirits or a wizard, or a necromancer 

 (supposedly foretelling of the future through the dead) For all that do these things are an 

abomination unto the Lord......"                                              

 Leviticus 19:31 - "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after Wizards, to 

be defiled by them...."

 Some More of Satan’s Fronts -

 AUGURY. The art of divination by reading signs and omens.

 

AUTOMATIC WRITING: Writing done while in a trance - ostensibly containing supernatural and prophetic messages. The pen is held in the hand but is directed by spiritual forces. The finished product is often in a handwriting style or language other than that of the one holding the pen.

 

BLACK MAGIC: A form of witchcraft using incantations and potions to cause disease, to place people under spells, and to contact spirits.

 

BLACK MASS: A satanic parody of the Roman Catholic Mass. The "clergy" dress in black robes and hoods and lead a worship in honor of Satan. The Black Mass frequently includes animal - and even human - sacrifices. (Horrible as the thought is, many experts believe that a large percentage of kidnapped children who are never recovered are used as sacrifices in satanic masses.)

 

CARTOMANCY: Telling the future by use of tarot cards.

 

CEPHALOMANCY: A black magic practice that uses a skull - usually that of a donkey or goat - for divination.

 

 CHIROMANCY: Palm-reading

 

CLAIRVOYANT: One who foresees events through visions and dreams - as revealed by the powers of darkness. Some are able to exercise this ability at will while others experience it in an irregular manner.

 

CONJURE: To summon a spirit by incantation. Conjurers claim to have access to the dead but the Bible makes it clear that they are, in fact, communicating with demonic spirits

 

COVEN: A group of thirteen witches - usually six males and six females - with a high priest or priestess. Witches often gather in cemeteries (or at least in outdoor settings) to worship Satan. Such services often feature animal sacrifices along with chanting.

 

CURSE: An incantation or spell calling for harm (or bad luck) to an individual, family, or group of people. These are real, but, if you are born again God’s ’way, they cannot and will not work on you.

 

DEMON: An evil spirit subservient to Satan. Demons can influence those who yield to their power and exert control over the bodies and minds of such people. Demons are always the basic element behind occult power.

 

ESBAT: A meeting of witches to a accomplish an evil act.

 

EXORCISM: A ritual supposedly used to cast out demons and dispel them from specific persons or locations. Any exorcism - other than that prescribed in God’s Word - is in itself a satanic ritual. The ONLY people that can cast out satanic spirits are those who have God in Christ in them - The Holy Spirit -                                   

 Example - Acts 19:13-16.- "Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure youby Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chiefof the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified."

 

EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION (ESP): The so-called ability to see the future, read minds, and discern unknown facts without the use of the normal five senses.

 

FAMILIAR SPIRITS: A satanic spirit embodied within a person. Seeking the advice of familiar spirits is expressly forbidden in the Old Testament (Isaiah 8:19 - "And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?).

 

FETISH: An object regarded as sacred and magical - often an idol or p me symbol of a demonic spirit.

 

FIRE WALKING: The supernatural ability to walk on hot coals without pain. Often done in a hypnotic trance.

 

GHOSTS: Thought by many to be spirits of the dead. In light of biblical teaching, however, we know  that activities attributed to ghosts are inevitably satanic manifestations. Not of the dead but rather of satanic spirits resembling the dead. They can take on any form they want.

 

GRAPHOLOGY: Analysis of character through handwriting. Pure graphology has some scientific basis but it is used generally to tell fortunes. As such, it is a demonic practice.

 

HEX: An evil spell or a curse. A hex can-not-effect a true born again believer.

 HYPNOSIS: Mental suggestion or mind control. Although some consider this a valid medical or scientific practice, it is at best a questionable and dangerous method of dealing with the human mind. It is always of Satan.

 

MEDIUM: A person who acts as a channel of communication between this world and the spirit world.

 

MYSTIC: A person involved in occult mysticism.

 

NECROMANCY: ‘Conjuring up the spirits of the dead’.  Can not be done. The only spirit that gets "conjured up" is satanic spirits.

 

OUIJA BOARD: The trademark name for a board used to obtain spiritualistic or telepathic messages. Players put their fingers on a special planchette that moves over a printed alphabet to spell out the messages. The name derives from the words "oui" and "ja," French and, German words for "yes."

 

PARAPSYCHOLOGY: The study of occult phenomena and demonic manifestations.

 

POLTERGEIST: Mischievous "ghost" thought responsible for unexplained noises and movement of inanimate objects. They are satanic spirits doing their job of causing fear.

 

POTIONS: Mixtures of herbs, drugs, and concoctions with supposedly "magical" powers.

 

PSYCHIC PHENOMENA: Events and powers that mankind cannot explained as normal physical occurrences and which are attributed to spiritual powers.

 

SABBAT: A meeting of witches to ring in new members.

 

SATANIC CHURCH: A church organized for the express purpose of worshiping the devil.

 

SATANISM: Satan worship. Usually, satanic rites are parodies of Christian worship. Satanists practice a form of baptism and have their own corrupted kind of communion services. Sometimes human flesh and blood are used in this communion service.

 

SÉANCE: A meeting to practice necromancy.  It is the blackest of all the black arts. The ancient method of communication with the dead - usually led b a medium. The only thing they communicate with is satanic spirits.

 

SORCERER: A wizard, witch, or magician; a practitioner of black magic.

 

SPIRITUALISM: The belief that the spirits of the dead can communicate with the living.

 

SUPERSTITION: Unwarranted belief in supernatural influences apart from God.

 

TRANSMIGRATION OF SOULS: Reincarnation. CAN NOT BE DONE    If anyone tells you anything different they are of the house of the un-learned.

 

WARLOCK: A male witch. They are alive and well living amongst us.

 

WHITE MAGIC: Magic supposedly used for good purposes - such as healing, breaking spells, and so forth. Actually, "white" magic is as scriptural and demonic as black magic.

 

WITCH: One who practices magic, sorcery, and other black occult (Satanic) arts. Witches are - despite their public relations efforts are Satanists.

 

WITCH DOCTOR: One who uses herbs, incantations, magic, voodoo, and sorceries to bring about healing’s

 

YOGA: An oriental form of exercise and meditation that opens the mind to evil powers. The philosophy behind yoga is Buddhist and many of the chants that are involved are atheistic and antichristian.

 

ZODIAC: The collection of planets and constellations that make up the astrological sciences. The idea of the zodiac was originally based on an errant and incomplete understanding of ancient astronomy.

 

VOODOO: An ancient form of black magic practiced in primitive tribal areas. Often, in fact, a combination of pagan and Roman Catholic practices.

 

 Protection from Satan's Advances

 

Satan always tries to feed thoughts to your mind as you already know. After a lot of practice, you may learn how to ignore him. When he is ignored, he will leave you alone BUT after you become born-again/saved God's way you can use the following phrase to keep Satan at bay when he tries to harass you -

 After You Are a Grad of Romans 10:9,10 Memorize the following

 “I command you Satan in the name of Jesus Christ to Go to

 the outer waters of the World now.”

 The Satanic Spirit hast to and does go immediately!

 

Notice: it states in the name of Jesus Christ NOT just in the name of Jesus

About the those Outer Waters. 

Genesis 1:6&7 - “And God said, let there be a firmament (firmament means expanse) in the

midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the 

firmament, (expanse) and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the 

waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. Waters under heaven, and also 

above Heaven. (And when God made earth, he put it under heaven. and took the remaining 

waters and used them for lakes, streams and oceans on the earth.)

  Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils 

were entered into him (the man). And they (the satanic devil spirits) besought him (Jesus 

Christ) that he would not command them to go out into the deep.(the deep is the waters 

 above heaven - and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters 

which were above the firmament -:knowing that once they got there they could not harm 

anyone else or come back into the world – lack of a better explanation - a satanic holding

 cell till the end of the world)

 Luke 8:32 - And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they 

 (satanic spirits) besought him (Jesus Christ) that he would suffer them to enter into them

  (the swine – instead of the outer waters of the world). And he (Jesus Christ) suffered them. 

Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently 

down a steep place into the lake, and (the swine) were choked.

How to Watch

 

Matthew 26:41 -   "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is 

willing, but the flesh is weak."

 

I Thessalonians 5:4,5 - "But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake 

you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the

 night, nor of darkness."

 

Once Satan’s trap is sprung it is too late to watch.

 

Have a healthy respect, not "smart-alack" attitude toward your adversary.

I Peter 5:8. - "Be sober, (sober - Greek νήφω (nēphō), meaning to be calm and collected in spirit ) be vigilant; (vigilant - Greek νήφω (nēphō),to take heed lest through remission and indolence some destructive calamity suddenly overtake one ) because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: "

 Our weapon is the Word of God, which is the sword of the spirit - Our only offensive weapon.

 Satan’s suggestion is "Satan says."     Our counteraction is " God says."

 James 2:19 - "You believe that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe,

 and tremble."

God's Rightly Divided Words in their accuracy, integrity and simplicity  will win,

 bring joy, peace, understanding, love, positive action, etc.

 But 

the words of Satan will hurt, destruction, cause illness, tension, sadness, 

passiveness, blindness to the Truth of God’s rightly divided word, hate, the list is 

endless. Be ready with the ammunition from God’s Word at all times to recognize and 

defeat Satan at any weak point you have.

HOW WE CAN STAND AGAINST THE DEVIL

I John 4-:4 -Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in 

you, than he that is in the world.  

The potential power but the key must be used to turn on that power. The key in resisting the 

Devil is spoken words from the Word.                                                   

John 1:1 -  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was 

God.                                                                                                                        

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two 

edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and 

marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2 Timothy 1:13. - Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith 

and love which is in Christ Jesus.

 Our walk is two-fold.

 James 4:1-7 - From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence,

 even of your lusts that war in your members?   

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye 

have not, because ye ask not

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts 

lusts.    

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with

God whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto

the humble.                                                                                                         

 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Make yourself subject to God.

 3. You must have a spiritual connection line, a system for communicating with God.

 4. You must have the proper keys for making yourself subject to God in your walk.

Make yourself stand against the Devil.

 1. You must know that you have an enemy.

 2. You must know how he operates.

 3. You must have a spiritual interception line, a system to detect his approach.

 4. You must have the proper keys for standing against him when he intrudes into your life.

 Ephesians 4-27 - Neither give place to the devil.

 Ephesians 6:11 - Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the 

wiles of the devil.

I Timothy 3:6,7 - Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation 

of the devil. Moreover, he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall

 into reproach and the snare of the devil.

 2 Timothy 2:26 - And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who 

are taken captive by him at his will.

Acts 10:38 - How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: 

who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was 

with him.

 

YOU MUST KNOW THAT YOU HAVE AN ENEMY.

As Jesus Christ is your personal Savior, so the devil is your personal enemy. You must do 

business with Jesus Christ to be saved and you must do business with Satan to get rid of 

him. The vagueness in teaching his Satanic devices with no clear-cut explanations of how to

 deal with him is why Christian’s are having trouble living for their Lord and Savior because

 their greatest enemy is left undetected.

 The truth of Christ and salvation is taught by many while the truth of Satan’s existence and 

operation is suppressed. The average Christian does not even know who Satan is. or worse 

yet, doesn’t even believe he exists, let alone having a knowledge of his devices. This is a 

beautiful trick of Satan.

 2 Corinthians 11:12-15 - But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them

which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. For such are 

false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And 

no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great 

thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall 

be according to their works.

I John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God

: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Like as one deals with Jesus Christ for salvation, so one must deal with Satan for victory in 

one’s Christian walk. When we ignore Jesus Christ, there is no salvation, when we ignore 

Satan there IS no victory.

Victory implies a fight which implies an enemy. 

You cannot win unless you fight the enemy.

 Without your realizing it your personal adversary the devil may be directing your life. His 

subtle wisdom, his ingenious devices may make it easy for him to manipulate you.

 An outsider may maneuver you in such a way you neither suspect it or notice it. Every-

thing you do and say a pears to be your own idea but it isn’t It happened to Peter,-

 Mark 8:’27-33 - And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi:

 and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, whom do men say that I am? And 

they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. And

 he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, 

Thou art the Christ. And he charged them that they should tell no man of him. 

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of

the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise 

again. And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But

when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee 

behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of 

men.

If you think no one is that clever, you are mistaken, Satan is - he can get you to waste one 

day after another. He can cause you to forget God and His Word hours upon end, he can 

make you misbehave and think you are not so bad.

 l Thessalonians 3:5 - For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your 

faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

2 Corinthians l l:3,4 - But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and 

the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or 

prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

 Many Christians can look back a year and see little or no change. Their personalities are the

 same, the dedication of their talents is stabilized, their abundant sharing is not abundant.

They are not giving of themselves and receiving the benefits and dividends, because they 

ignore

 

Satan and his operations

Whenever we as Christian believers have our self-ascertain, self-exhalation, self-

satisfaction, self-glorification then we are identified with Satan. 

 To be a self-worshiper is to be a Satan                               

James 1:5-l6 - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally

, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. 

For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not 

that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable 

in all his ways. Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in 

that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. For the sun is 

no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof 

falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in 

his ways. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive 

the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when 

he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth 

he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and entice 

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth

Satan desires to be worshipped openly; but, for the most part, he cannot be that boldly 

present, because he cannot afford to enter to open competition where people have the 

renewed mind and walk in the light of the Word. Therefore, his primary attack today is 

vengeance against the Most High God.

 

When Satan deceives the Christian into living for

 1) himself.

 2) others.

 3) environment or

4) religion,

he has frustrated God’s ambitions for the Christian believer. Even though Satan may never 

be mentioned or even a hint that they are serving Satan but just self, others, environment, or 

religion -

 Satan’s man, Satan’s woman, Satan’s boy, Satan’s girl.

 Matthew 6:19-24 - Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust 

doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures

 in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break 

through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the 

body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if 

thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee

 be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters: for either he will 

hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye 

cannot serve God and mammon.

 The “natural” way to live is to live by the manner in which we are most accustomed, by the

 rules and regulations of Satan’s world. Illustration the law of inertia. Satan uses what is 

natural in man to enslave him: his self-ambitions, self-interest, self-satisfaction, self-

pleasing.

 Ephesians 2:1-3 - And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins 

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the 

prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, 

fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, 

even as others.

Jude 4,10-12 - For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old 

ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into 

lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. I will therefore 

put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the 

people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. And the angels 

which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting

 chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, 

and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going 

after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 

Likewise, also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of 

dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the 

body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke 

thee. But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally,

 as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Woe unto them! for they have gone 

in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in 

the gainsaying of Core. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, 

feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds;

testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their 

hands. But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with 

the apostles. And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews 

with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,They were ware of it, and fled

Satan's Motives

The Devil’s primary motive was and is to be like the Most High as God, His co-equal and 

to sit on God’s throne getting people to worship him in the place of the true God. 

Isaiah 14:14 - I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

 Genesis 3:5 - For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be 

opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

2 Thessalonians 2:4,8,9 - But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, 

even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. So being 

affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of 

God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. For ye remember, brethren,

 our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable 

unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

Luke 4-:7 - If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

Another motive is to hinder the purposes of God. For example, in the first heaven and earth 

he was second in command to God only. In the second heaven and earth he gained dominion

 of the world from Adam. His defeat of God in the dominion of the universe would have 

been eternal had he destroyed the believer’s line. For example, during the flood, Abraham,

 Egypt, David’s sons, - Hezekiah, and by killing the Christ. He has tried to defeat as many 

people as possible since from Genesis 3:15 until the resurrection of Christ, the Devil has had

a chance of achieving eternal defeat of God. But with the resurrection of Christ, he 

eternally became a born loser.

Before Christ's coming, the Devil concealed himself and his snare. 

However, when Christ came, He exposed that snare.

 Luke 10:17-24 - And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are 

subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall 

from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over 

all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in 

this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names

 are written in heaven. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, 

Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and

 hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. All 

things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the 

Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. And he 

turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things 

that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things 

which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not

 heard them.

Colossians 2:l5 - And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them 

openly, triumphing over them in it.

 Since then, the Devil has again tried to re-conceal himself. For example, the dark ages and 

the age of enlightenment.

 You Must Know HOW He Operates t

 THE SECRET TO HIS SUCCESS IS THE SECRECY OF HIS MOVES.

 The less people know about the Devil and his hosts operating within his snare, the more 

valuable the counterfeit is to him.

2 Corinthians 2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of 

his devices.

Ephesians 6:11 - Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the 

wiles (methods) of the devil

 EVERYTHING GOD HAS DONE THE DEVIL TRIES TO COUNTERFEIT

 The value and delusion of the counterfeit is increased by its nearness to the likeness of the 

geniune. He is in no way orignal. He may be a good cause but not the true God’s best cause.

 Hebrews 5:12-14 - For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one 

teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as 

have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the 

word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full 

age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and

 Satan will always attack us at our weaknesses. 

This is where his attacks are systematically concentrated. 

So watch.

 Our weapon is the Word of God, the sword "of the spirit. Our only offensive weapon.

 Satan’s suggestion is “Satan says.” Our counteraction is “God says.”

 James 2:19 - Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, 

and tremble.

 "The pen is mightier than the sword.” The words of the true God will win, bring joy, peace, under-standing, love, positive action, etc. 

But the words of Satan will hurt. destroy, cause illness, tension, sadness, passiveness, blindness, hate, etc.

 God is His Word.

 John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was

 God.

 Satan is his word, man is one or the other or a combination of both God or Satan’s word.

 The power of suggestion is conveyed through words.

 Satan uses good things as a snare to defeat the Christian because the good is not the best. 

He uses sincerity as the snare because sincerity is not truth. Truth is truth.

The scripture “you have not because you ask not” is also true in resistance of Satan “you 

are defeated because you resist not.”

 Memorize the scripture verses which match your weaknesses and give you ammunition for 

the moment Satan attacks. They will provide mind filling ideas which can replace Satan’s 

suggestions.

 Delight thyself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

 There is no quick easy method or way to learn how to fight. The skill in a warfare is gained 

as you work with it. It takes practice, determination, discipline, will, systematic operations.

 Matthew 4:1-10. illustrations - no one is a non-worrier simply by directing his believing 

toward God alone. He has to direct his resistance toward Satan upon the authority of God’s 

Revealed Word and Will.

2 Timothy 2:15-18 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not 

to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for 

they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom

 is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the 

resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

 

Those who missed the mark.

Acts 17:23 - For as I (Paul) passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this

 inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him 

declare I unto you.

I Corinthians 14:38 - But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. (Titus 3:10 - A man 

that is an heretick (Greek αἱρετικός (hairetikos), meaning able to take or choose a thing) 

after the first and second admonition reject;

  Job 16:12,13 - I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my 

neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark. His archers compass me round 

about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the 

ground.

 

Lamentations 3:12 - He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

Greek skopefi — to hit the mark, aim, keep your eyes on the goal.

 Be goal oriented, not task oriented.

 

Be Word conditioned, not circumstance conditioned.

 

Don’t be ignorant of: Aim

 1. The Mystery.                                                                                                    

 Romans 11:25 - For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest 

ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until 

the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

 

2. Spiritual matters

I Corinthians 12:1 - Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

 (The word gifts was added by the translators of 1611. It was never in the Greek of 1550 

from which the KJV was translated).

 

3. Old Testament believers and their walk.

I Corinthians 10:1-6, - Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that 

all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized 

unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all 

drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and 

that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were 

overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should 

not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

 I Corinthians 10:11 - Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are 

written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Romans 1:13 - Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to 

come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as 

among other Gentiles.

his devices.

came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we 

despaired even of life:

 I Thessalonians 4:13-18 - But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning 

them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we 

believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God 

bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive 

and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the 

Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and 

with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and 

remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and 

so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

 Watching over the things of others.

 Philippians 2:4 - Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of 

others.

 Watching that you are not tempted.

 Galatians 6:1 - Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore 

such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

 Avoiding them which cause divisions and teach other doctrines.

 Romans 16:17 - Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and 

offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

 The prize of the high calling of God in Christ at his return.

 Philippians 3:14 - I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ 

Jesus.

 Be ready with the ammunition from God’s Word at all times to recognize and defeat Satan 

at any weak areas at which he may direct his attacks.

Ephesians 4:17-32 - This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not

 as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, 

being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the 

blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto 

lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; 

If so, be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That 

ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to 

the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new 

man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away

 lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye 

angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.

 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing 

which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication

 proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may 

minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are 

sealed unto the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, 

and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, 

tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

I Corinthians 16:9-18. There are many adversaries. Therefore, we need people who are addicted to the accuracy, integrity and simplicity of God’s Rightly Divided Word of Truth.
